President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended a ceremony in Andijan region to launch new investment projects and break ground on others, according to the presidential press service. The event covered 206 projects with a total value of $9.4 billion.

Of these, 98 projects worth $2.05 billion were launched, and construction began on 108 projects worth $7.35 billion. The projects span key sectors such as energy, construction, textiles, mechanical engineering, education, tourism, logistics, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare. They will be implemented across all 16 cities and districts of the region.

Specifically, the initiatives include a cotton-textile cluster, an electricity storage and distribution system, furniture and leather-footwear industrial zones, production of electric buses, solar panels, and micro-hydro equipment, as well as modern educational and medical centers. The new projects also envisage the construction of residential complexes, international logistics and tourism centers, a hydroelectric power station, a waste-to-energy plant, and facilities for manufacturing vehicles and freight cars.

The projects are being carried out in cooperation with companies from China, Turkey, South Korea, the US, Russia, Belarus, Germany, India, the UAE, and Tajikistan, as well as local investors. It is noted that their implementation will create over 45,000 new jobs, generate annual output worth 60.6 trillion soums, and create export potential of $533 million.

Officials from all cities and districts of the region, foreign partners, and initiators participated in the ceremony via video link. They provided information on the significance of the projects, implementation process, and launch timelines. The head of state expressed gratitude to foreign partners and local entrepreneurs involved in these initiatives.

The President pressed a symbolic button to launch the 98 new projects and start construction of the 108 facilities. After that, he held a dialogue with investors and regional activists.
