Nearly 95 kilograms of hashish have been seized in the Qibray district of Tashkent region. The press secretary of the Customs Committee, Husan Tangriyev, told Gazeta.

The narcotics were discovered during an operation conducted by officers of the Customs Committee's Anti-Smuggling Department in cooperation with the State Security Service. Inside four agricultural sacks hidden among trees in a field, 109 packages of hashish were found.

The operation participants kept the area under surveillance for several days to identify individuals who might come to retrieve the drugs. After 8 days, two citizens who arrived at the site to collect the narcotics were identified and detained.

During investigative actions, the person who ordered the drugs to be hidden and later retrieved was also identified and detained. He had previously been prosecuted in a criminal case initiated by the Customs Committee for gasoline smuggling.

A criminal case has been opened regarding the discovery of a large consignment of drugs. According to experts, the seized hashish amounts to 700,000 single doses, and its release into illegal circulation could have posed a serious threat to the life and health of the population, especially young people. Its black market value, if it had reached the end consumer, could have exceeded $10 million.
