The Tashkent City Council of People's Deputies has approved new fares for public transport in the capital. The changes will take effect on October 1, according to the city administration's press service.
Under the document, a single ride on buses and the metro with electronic payment will cost 2,500 soums. Cash payment will remain at the previous rate of 3,000 soums. Baggage transport for one passenger will cost 4,000 soums.
New tariff plans for transport cards have also been approved. For bus-only travel: 1 day — 11,500 soums; 5 days — 42,500 soums; 7 days — 54,000 soums; 10 days — 84,500 soums; 15 days — 127,000 soums; 20 days — 169,500 soums; 30 days — 250,000 soums; 1 month — 250,000 soums; 3 months — 682,500 soums; 6 months — 1,170,000 soums; 1 year — 1,950,000 soums.
For bus and metro travel: 1 day — 13,500 soums; 5 days — 57,500 soums; 7 days — 73,000 soums; 10 days — 115,500 soums; 15 days — 173,000 soums; 20 days — 231,000 soums; 30 days — 345,000 soums; 1 month — 345,000 soums; 3 months — 945,000 soums; 6 months — 1,620,000 soums; 1 year — 2,700,000 soums.
In addition, packages for a fixed number of trips are available: 10 trips — 19,000 soums, 20 trips — 38,500 soums, 30 trips — 57,500 soums. Students, pensioners, and persons with disabilities are entitled to a 50% discount when purchasing certain tariff plans.
Separate tariffs for transfers within one hour using transport cards have been approved. For bus-only trips, the first ride will cost 2,500 soums, the second — 1,500 soums, and the third and subsequent rides — free. If the route includes the metro, a metro ride as part of a transfer will cost 1,500 soums if the metro is not the first mode of transport. If the trip starts with the metro, it will cost 2,500 soums, after which the first two bus rides will cost 1,500 soums each, and the third and subsequent rides will be free. The metro can be used only once within a one-hour tariff. If the metro is used again, a new 60-minute period will start.
Recall that the draft decision on raising tariffs was previously put forward for public discussion. The People's Democratic Party, commenting on the initiative, stated the need to consider population incomes and the potential burden on the budgets of low-income and large families.
