An Uzbek national accused of large-scale fraud has been successfully extradited from Georgia back to Uzbekistan following a targeted international operation coordinated via Interpol channels. The individual had been on the international wanted list after evading domestic law enforcement.
Investigators traced the suspect's whereabouts to Georgia, prompting coordinated actions between the National Central Bureaus (NCB) of Interpol in both Tashkent and Tbilisi. Consequently, Georgian security agencies apprehended the fugitive on their territory.
The Prosecutor General's Office of Uzbekistan formally requested the suspect’s extradition, which was formally reviewed and granted by Georgian judicial authorities. Following the completion of all international legal and logistical procedures, the detainee was handed over to Uzbek custody and transferred back to Tashkent.
The suspect is currently facing formal procedural and investigative steps under the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. Representatives from the local Interpol NCB noted that the successful operation is part of an ongoing, systematic effort to locate and repatriate fugitives seeking impunity abroad.
