The Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing and Public Health has officially announced that the epidemiological situation regarding the plague in Uzbekistan is supposedly stable, claiming there are no grounds for public concern.
Addressing reports of a suspected plague case in the Russian city of Irkutsk, Nurmat Otabekov, the first deputy chairman of the committee, stated that the diagnosis has not yet been confirmed by relevant Russian agencies, while inspections are purportedly underway.
Authorities reminded the public that the plague is an extremely dangerous bacterial infection with natural reservoirs in various parts of the world, typically transmitted through small mammals, infected fleas, or direct contact.
Although the regime's health bodies claim that 53 sanitary checkpoints at state borders and specialized laboratories are fully equipped to prevent imported infections, ongoing global health concerns continue to prompt scrutiny over regional preparedness.
