A delegation from the parliament of Uzbekistan participated in the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), held in the Tanzanian city of Arusha. The high-level international gathering focused on critical issues such as strengthening democratic institutions, enhancing public trust in governance structures, ensuring equal opportunities, and combating ongoing climate change challenges.

During the proceedings, Tanzila Norbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, briefed participants on the outcomes of the 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of the IPU, which took place in Samarkand this September. She noted that the conference served to develop essential parliamentary solutions for protecting human rights amidst complex global challenges.

Special attention was drawn to promoting the UN 'Youth, Peace and Security' agenda, ensuring the responsible regulation of digital platforms, and broadening the participation of youth in decision-making processes. The discussions also addressed the pivotal role and capabilities of young parliamentarians in achieving the broader Sustainable Development Goals.

Representatives of foreign parliaments praised the organizational level, international scope, and practical outcomes of the Samarkand conference. Attendees specifically acknowledged the practical significance of the conference's final document and commended Uzbekistan's tangible contribution to advancing youth parliamentary diplomacy internationally.
