The youth robotics team of Uzbekistan has achieved an unprecedented and historic triumph at the international FIRST Global Challenge 2026 tournament, hosted in Incheon, South Korea. Demonstrating exceptional technical proficiency, engineering acumen, and seamless teamwork, the young representatives completely dominated the competition by winning all 16 of their matches against contenders from nearly 200 nations.
Throughout the intense technological showdown, the Uzbek squad accumulated a record-breaking 637 points, ultimately securing three gold medals and setting a new high-score benchmark for the tournament. Observers note that this resounding success reflects the growing emphasis on advanced technical education and practical engineering skills within the country.
This year’s event, held under the motto “Igniting Innovation,” focused heavily on the critical global issue of wildfires and the search for effective technological solutions to combat them. Participants were tasked with designing and programming advanced robotic systems capable of executing complex preventive measures, mitigating fire damage, and aiding in ecological restoration.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time young Uzbek engineers have made international headlines. Previously, the team made waves globally by simultaneously assembling 1,900 miniature robots, thereby setting a world record and earning a coveted spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.
