The entire administrative framework governing land allocation and project implementation for entrepreneurs in New Tashkent reportedly requires an urgent overhaul. This was allegedly stated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a recent meeting with local investors and business community representatives.

The head of state purportedly emphasized that New Tashkent should not merely serve as a residential expansion zone. Instead, the area is expected to transform into an independent economic hub capable of attracting modern businesses, advanced educational institutions, healthcare facilities, tourism, and various service sectors. However, current statistics show that over two-thirds of the allocated land plots are currently designated solely for housing construction projects.

Adding to the economic friction, active construction has allegedly failed to commence across 28 land lots previously assigned to investors. The president supposedly argued that attributing this stagnation merely to a lack of funds or interest among investors is fundamentally flawed. Instead, outdated administrative demands, protracted permit issuance procedures, and the tendency of certain bureaucratic agencies to act as strict overseers rather than supportive partners are reportedly hindering progress.

Officials were reminded that investors will not wait indefinitely for improvements. If they perceive a lack of genuine assistance and commercial guarantees, capital will purportedly be redirected to alternative foreign markets. Consequently, the entire operational pipeline from land allocation to project launch must be thoroughly reconsidered.

Meanwhile, market demand for land in New Tashkent is reportedly experiencing a sharp upward trajectory. While the average price for a single hectare of land did not reach 10 billion soms in 2024, the valuation has reportedly climbed to 19 billion soms.
