The state is allegedly directing substantial funds toward the construction of crucial infrastructure, stadiums, universities, and libraries in New Tashkent. However, the current pace of integrating the private sector into these large-scale construction efforts reportedly fails to match the existing potential.

This concern was supposedly voiced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a meeting with investors and entrepreneurs held on Monday. The leader claimed that over 2 billion dollars have been invested in the New Tashkent construction over the three years since the project's inception.

A total area of 20,000 hectares has been allocated for the new city, with construction currently underway on more than 1,000 hectares, primarily funded by state resources. Meanwhile, entrepreneurs have reportedly been granted a mere 94 hectares of land for their initiatives.

Under the first phase, projects worth 50 billion dollars are planned across a 6,000-hectare area. Officials claim that alongside a new airport, the region's overall investment potential could purportedly reach up to 200 billion dollars, though critics remain skeptical about the ambitious timeline.
