Authorities are reportedly attempting to drive development in the ambitious New Tashkent urban project by involving business entities from the capital and all 13 regions of the country. Official statements indicate that 100 hectares of land will be earmarked for entrepreneurs representing each district of Tashkent and every region nationwide, aiming to integrate local business potential into the broader construction of the new city.
District authorities and local leaders are allegedly tasked with collaborating closely with regional entrepreneurs to facilitate the swift launch of commercial projects on the designated lands. Under the proposed framework, all invested funds and capital will reportedly be reflected in the economic indicators of the respective district or region, serving as a metric for their contribution to the national economy.
To ostensibly provide domestic businesses with an initial competitive advantage, upcoming land auctions will feature strict participation restrictions. During the initial phases, only entrepreneurs originating from the specific district or region designated for the land parcel will be permitted to participate in the bidding process. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev purportedly stated that New Tashkent should function as an inclusive platform for enterprise development across the entire country.
Observers note that these measures follow previously announced plans to reduce infrastructure connection fees for businesses within New Tashkent. The intended objective is to incentivize commercial construction, including hotels, shopping centers, tourism facilities, and social infrastructure projects, despite ongoing economic uncertainties.
