The appellate court has reviewed the high-profile criminal case concerning Odilxon Ismoilov, the founder of the well-known 'Rayxon oilaviy milliy taomlari' national food establishment chain. According to information provided by the press service of the Namangan region courts, the judicial board announced its final verdict, altering the initial custodial sentence to a conditional one and allowing the businessman to walk free from the courtroom.
Case files indicate that during the judicial proceedings, part of the financial damages inflicted within the scope of the criminal case was compensated through cash deposits made into a designated depository account. Furthermore, certain properties belonging to Ismoilov were transferred to the bank's balance upon request, while other previously seized assets were liquidated and directed toward restitution.
Taking these mitigating circumstances and compensatory actions into account, the court upheld the initial charge under paragraph 'a', part 3 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code, but deemed it appropriate to apply Article 72 regarding conditional sentencing. Consequently, Ismoilov was granted a three-year probation period, and the remainder of his imprisonment was suspended, resulting in his immediate release.
For context, Ismoilov had previously been sentenced to an 8-year prison term by the decision of the Pap district court. Born in the Namangan region in 1977, Ismoilov previously held prominent religious positions, including serving as the deputy chief imam of Tashkent and working with the 'Vaqf' charitable foundation, prior to his arrest in early 2026 on charges related to embezzlement and fraudulent business practices.
