The Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Protection of Uzbekistan has reportedly uncovered multiple legal violations during public procurement procedures across six regions of the country. According to official disclosures, the irregularities affected Andijan, Fergana, Jizzakh, Namangan, Navoi, and Samarkand regions, specifically involving tenders in road maintenance, healthcare, and educational sectors.

Investigations allegedly revealed that public funds were mismanaged or subjected to anti-competitive practices in various local entities. In the Andijan region, discrepancies were found in procurements made by the Altynkuduk district landscaping department, while the Fergana region reportedly saw questionable tenders exceeding 2.5 billion soms across seven road administration projects. Similar issues were allegedly identified at a specialized boarding school in the Jizzakh region and medical associations in Namangan.

Regulators claim that these tenders violated Article 29 of the Competition Law, which ostensibly prohibits any actions that restrict or may restrict fair competition during bidding processes. Further infractions were supposedly uncovered within forestry management facilities in the Navoi region and road construction clusters in Samarkand, involving billions of soms in public allocations.

In response to these findings, the Uzbek authorities have initiated formal proceedings against the commissioning organizations. Financial sanctions were allegedly applied in specific instances, and case materials were forwarded to competent authorities for legal assessment. Mandatory compliance directives have reportedly been issued to prevent future systemic failures in public procurement.
