President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is reportedly scheduled to pay a working visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan on October 14–15. This announcement was officially released by the press service of the Uzbek leader, outlining plans for his upcoming diplomatic engagement in Baku.

The agenda for the upcoming 7th summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) is expected to encompass crucial topics such as strengthening mutual trust across the Asian continent, ensuring regional peace and security, and advancing the institutional development of CICA. Participants will purportedly examine prospects for cooperation in priority areas including transport connectivity, digitalization, and sustainable economic growth, alongside exchanging views on wider regional and international issues.

Furthermore, the visit's itinerary entails a series of bilateral meetings between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the heads of foreign delegations attending the summit. These discussions are allegedly aimed at reviewing the current state of interstate relations and exploring avenues for deeper multilateral engagement.

As a matter of background, CICA functions as an international forum dedicated to reinforcing cooperative ties, security, and stability throughout Asia. The organization currently unites 28 member states, which collectively account for approximately 90 percent of the continent's total territory and population.
