Atmospheric air quality in Tashkent is anticipated to deteriorate significantly on the evening of October 14, reaching levels deemed unsafe for sensitive population groups. Official warnings regarding the ecological situation were issued by the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change.
According to meteorological forecasts provided by the committee, the Air Quality Index (AQI) is projected to range between 100 and 150 from 20:00 to 23:00 local time. The highest concentrations of hazardous particulate matter are expected to be recorded between 22:00 and 23:00, primarily impacting the northern and western sectors of the city.
Environmental authorities attribute this worsening trend to unfavorable weather patterns, specifically weak wind speeds and a persistent temperature inversion. These atmospheric phenomena reportedly trap pollutants close to the ground surface, preventing their natural dispersion.
