President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held an official meeting with President of Laos Thongloun Sisulith in Baku on October 15. The high-level discussions focused on exploring new opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation across various strategic sectors, including trade, logistics, and industry.

During the negotiations, the leaders identified key areas for the future development of Uzbek-Laotian relations. These priorities reportedly include boosting mutual trade turnover, enhancing direct business-to-business contacts, and implementing joint investment projects that could mutually benefit both developing economies.

Particular attention was also dedicated to strengthening the legal framework governing trade and economic cooperation, alongside expanding educational and cultural exchanges between the two nations. Furthermore, the leaders exchanged views on pressing regional and international agenda items of mutual concern.

This diplomatic engagement follows earlier discussions on the sidelines of the summit, where President Mirziyoyev reportedly met with Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Those talks centered on deepening economic ties and preparing for the upcoming participation of the Uzbek delegation in the Doha Forum.
