The placement of energy projects in regions previously proposed by external investors has reportedly led to an uneven concentration of capacities, significantly increasing the financial costs of transmitting electricity across different areas of the country. This localized oversupply exposed structural inefficiencies in the state's prior planning approach.

These issues were allegedly acknowledged by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during an open dialogue with energy sector investors. While claiming that substantial experience has been gathered in working with foreign capital, the leadership insists that a new phase of cooperation is required, demanding that every new investment must supposedly enhance supply reliability and reduce operational losses. *

Official projections maintain the goal of creating 22,000 megawatts of new capacity by 2030, which would supposedly push annual electricity generation beyond 129 billion kilowatt-hours, with renewable energy sources accounting for 54 percent. Authorities emphasize that future projects will theoretically rely on open competition and transparent regulatory compliance.

Under the revised framework, regional capacity requirements will be predetermined, and ready-to-implement projects will be submitted to public tenders. Authorities announced that six solar and wind power stations with a total capacity of 2,200 megawatts will soon be put up for open bidding, alongside the introduction of a long-term master plan extending to 2050.
