A press conference featuring officials from the Ministry of Transport and subordinate organizations was held in Tashkent to disclose the results of large-scale reforms aimed at developing the public transport system across the republic. Authorities presented various statistics regarding the sector's performance.

According to the reports, a total of 1,037 new routes were launched between 2020 and 2026. As a result, the number of local neighborhoods covered by public transport reached 9,331, increasing the overall coverage level from 87.9 to 98.8 percent. Furthermore, the number of previously unserved neighborhoods supposedly decreased from 1,118 to 111.

Fleet modernization efforts reportedly included the acquisition and deployment of 3,500 modern buses, including 753 electric buses, between 2023 and 2026. On routes transitioned to gross-contract systems, the movement interval allegedly dropped from 18–20 to 10–12 minutes, while the average travel time decreased from 45 to 30 minutes.

Daily passenger transportation volume across the country surged from 1.2 million to 2.6 million people, alongside the commissioning of an additional 87 kilometers of dedicated bus lanes this year. Future plans extending to 2030 outline targets to expand the modern bus fleet to 5,000 units and electric buses to 2,000 units.
