A sudden disruption in water supply along a section of the Anhor canal near Mukumy Street in Tashkent has led to a severe drop in water levels, exposing systemic vulnerabilities in urban water management. The incident has triggered immediate concerns among environmentalists and local residents regarding the preservation of the local ecosystem.

According to reports from the Ekologuz monitoring channel, the cessation of water flow has created isolated puddles and shallow pools where numerous fish are now trapped. As the remaining water continues to evaporate or seep away, conditions for the survival of these aquatic organisms are rapidly deteriorating.

Environmental advocates are urging responsible organizations to urgently inspect the troubled area, assess the condition of the trapped fish, and implement necessary rescue operations. Specifically, experts suggest executing a safe relocation of the fish to viable water bodies under proper regulatory oversight and compliance.

The public is pressing authorities for a prompt response to mitigate further ecological damage, though recurring incidents of this nature highlight ongoing challenges in municipal resource oversight. Previously, a similar mass mortality event involving fish was documented in another metropolitan waterway, the Salar canal.
