On March 3, a meeting on strengthening national defense capabilities was held under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan's President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was reported by the presidential press service.
The meeting reviewed issues related to further strengthening Uzbekistan's defense potential, ensuring military security, and the progress in implementing priority tasks set at the expanded meeting of the Security Council on January 13.
It was noted that in the context of an unstable international situation, where hotspots of tension and conflicts persist, geopolitical competition is intensifying, and the risk of new dangers and threats is growing, strengthening defense capabilities and ensuring national security is of particular importance.
The Minister of Defense reported on ongoing efforts to enhance troop combat readiness, conduct rapid training of units and subdivisions, equip them with modern weapons and equipment, and develop the infrastructure of military-administrative sectors.
Special attention was paid to studying the experience of developed countries and combat operations, and introducing modern approaches to the military management and training system. In particular, it was noted that there is a need to widely apply new technologies, including unmanned systems and digital management solutions, to improve troop efficiency.
Specific tasks were also defined for modernizing and developing the infrastructure of military-administrative sectors, training grounds, educational institutions, and material-technical support facilities in line with modern requirements.
Instructions were given to continue improving the military personnel training system, strengthen scientific research, and expand programs aimed at mastering modern weapons and technologies.
At the end of the meeting, the head of state outlined relevant tasks for further developing the Armed Forces and strengthening national defense capabilities.
