Uzbek authorities reportedly hosted a high-level delegation led by Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, on October 17. The discussions purportedly centered on strengthening comprehensive strategic partnership relations and implementing previously reached agreements between the leadership of both nations.
During the meeting, officials noted the establishment of active contacts across parliaments, government structures, and business circles. The Uzbek side allegedly reaffirmed its unchanging stance supporting the 'One China' policy and its commitment to combating what is termed the 'three evil forces' of terrorism, separatism, and extremism.
The sides claimed a steady growth in trade volumes and economic cooperation. The portfolio of joint projects based on stated agreements supposedly amounts to nearly 60 billion dollars, with over 6,000 joint ventures registered. Furthermore, discussions touched upon the ongoing exchange of experience regarding poverty alleviation measures.
Priority areas for expanded cooperation were identified as green energy, the chemical industry, artificial intelligence, robotics, and infrastructure modernization. Special emphasis was placed on the strategic China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, which is purportedly advancing at a rapid pace to enhance regional trade connectivity.
Cultural, educational, and tourism exchanges were also highlighted as crucial areas for future development. Plans to increase direct flights between cities and host upcoming cultural events in China were discussed alongside multilateral cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
