The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has formally adopted a resolution aimed at thoroughly studying and widely promoting the scientific heritage of the renowned scholar and physician Abu Ali ibn Sina, commonly known as Avicenna. The initiative sets forth tasks to integrate his timeless contributions with modern medical education and ongoing research ahead of his 1050th anniversary in 2030.
According to the approved roadmap, a dedicated research center will be established under the Bukhara State Medical Institute. This state institution will be tasked with collecting manuscripts currently preserved abroad, translating them into the Uzbek language, and developing a unified digital platform and database for international academic cooperation.
Furthermore, the comprehensive program spans through 2030, scheduling the publication of Avicenna's medical and philosophical works with academic commentaries, the production of documentary films, and the organization of international conferences. Additional measures include establishing an international award in his honor and promoting healthy lifestyles inspired by his medical treatises.
