A domestic dispute that quickly gained traction on local social media platforms has resulted in administrative punishment in the capital of Uzbekistan. A 36-year-old employee of the Brasserie Park restaurant in Tashkent has been sentenced to five days of administrative detention for petty hooliganism following a hostile confrontation with a 17-year-old food delivery courier.

The incident unfolded on October 17 near the central department store in the Mirabad district of Tashkent. According to reports, the underage courier was riding his scooter along a sidewalk adjacent to the restaurant's outdoor terrace. At that moment, a staff member of the establishment approached the young rider, began shouting aggressively, and directed offensive language toward him.

The confrontation was captured on video by eyewitnesses and subsequently uploaded online, triggering widespread criticism and catching the attention of the Tashkent Main Department of Internal Affairs. Authorities initiated a formal review, drew up a protocol for petty hooliganism against the restaurant worker, and transferred the case file to the Mirabad Criminal Court.

During the court proceedings, the defendant only partially admitted guilt. He claimed that the dispute allegedly erupted after the courier drove into an area occupied by restaurant patrons, and that he supposedly only intended to explain why such behavior was unacceptable. However, he admitted to losing his temper and insulting the teenager. Consequently, the court found him guilty under Article 183 of the Administrative Responsibility Code, handing down a five-day jail sentence.

In the wake of the public outcry, Tashkent city authorities launched an inspection regarding the legality of the restaurant's outdoor extension. The municipal administration discovered that the terrace structure violated local regulations by obstructing pedestrian walkways. Later that same day, municipal workers completely dismantled the structure, clearing the pathway for pedestrians.
