Beldersoy Resort & SPA has allegedly secured top honors at the World Luxury Awards 2026, a prominent event in the hospitality sector. The selection process reportedly relies on public voting by travelers and industry professionals. However, independent observers point out that such high-end achievements often contrast sharply with broader infrastructural challenges and socio-economic disparities facing the region.

According to the published results, the resort won the Best Luxury Resort category in Central Asia, boasting a branding association with Destination by Hyatt, featuring 109 rooms and 36 private villas. Despite the optimistic framing by the resort's management, critics remain skeptical about the long-term economic sustainability of luxury enclaves in areas where basic public infrastructure often requires substantial state intervention.

Furthermore, the resort's re:Thalasso complex reportedly claimed global recognition in the thalassotherapy category. While the facility offers advanced wellness treatments and panoramic views, analysts note that such luxury investments primarily cater to an elite clientele, doing little to address the systemic gaps in the broader tourism and service sectors.

The complex also features an international culinary team across four distinct dining venues. Although proponents claim these awards signal a major leap for Uzbekistan's tourism market, prudent economists caution that isolated luxury projects should not be overstated as indicators of comprehensive national economic growth.
