Starting in 2027, traditional district treasury and Pension Fund departments in Uzbekistan are slated for complete abolition. In their place, authorities intend to establish compact local offices staffed by merely one to three specialists, who will handle all citizen inquiries and operations related to retirement benefits. According to the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution outlining this transition, the overarching goal is to streamline public administration and citizen services. These streamlined district and city bureaus will be tasked with assigning pensions, recalculating amounts following condition changes, and organizing timely disbursements.

Prior to nationwide implementation, the government plans to test the updated framework through a pilot program. By the end of 2026, selected municipalities in the Andijan, Samarkand, and Syrdarya regions will shift pension assignment and payment duties to territorial directorates, relying on specialized three-person committees to evaluate individual cases.

Following the evaluation of the pilot project, the new streamlined service model is scheduled for deployment across the country starting January 1, 2027. Additionally, plans are underway to establish a project office under the Pension Fund featuring international consultants, aimed at fostering funded pensions and enhancing the financial sustainability of the overarching system.
