Authorities in the Ishtykhan district of the Samarkand region have identified a group of teenage students who brazenly disobeyed the lawful orders of a traffic police officer, hurled insults at him, and allegedly attempted to run him over with a vehicle. The incident, which was captured on video and circulated widely across social media platforms, triggered public outrage regarding youth delinquency and lawlessness.
According to available details, the young offenders were driving a Malibu-2 rental car through the streets of Ishtykhan when they ignored a routine police stop signal. Instead of complying, they reportedly drove the car directly toward the officer before fleeing the scene. In an apparent display of impunity, the teenagers recorded their own reckless actions and uploaded the footage to the internet.
Subsequent investigations revealed that the individuals responsible are students at vocational school No. 2 in the Kattakurgan district. It was established that the minors did not possess driver's licenses and had rented the vehicle for 1.2 million soms. The scandalous event prompted a rigorous critical review meeting involving the district khokim, law enforcement heads, the teenagers' parents, and the local entrepreneur who illegally rented out the car.
Footage released by the press service of the Samarkand Region Road Safety Department shows the teenage offenders shedding tears as they formally apologize to the traffic officer for their abusive behavior. Despite their public display of remorse, the legal ramifications remain unavoidable. The Ishtykhan district internal affairs department has compiled the necessary paperwork, transferring all gathered materials to the prosecutor's office for subsequent legal action.
