Relations between Uzbekistan and the US regime have allegedly reached the highest peak in their history of cooperation. This was stated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on October 19 during the second meeting of the American-Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council in Samarkand, where he specifically praised the role of Donald Trump in fostering these ties.
According to the Uzbek leader, a solid political partnership has been established, making the expansion of economic ties an urgent priority. Hundreds of enterprises with American capital currently operate in Uzbekistan, while local companies are beginning to invest in the US economy. Promising areas of cooperation include critical minerals, energy, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence.
During the meeting, the sides reportedly formed a package of 54 agreements and initiatives valued at nearly $12 billion. To facilitate implementation, Tashkent proposed a three-pronged action plan aimed at eliminating bureaucratic hurdles and ensuring predictable conditions for foreign investors through a dedicated direct investment fund.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed that Washington prioritizes relations with Central Asia, admitting that the US had previously missed opportunities in the region due to a focus on problematic areas. Meanwhile, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, emphasized that the council is designed to be a practical, results-driven mechanism rather than just another bureaucratic committee.
