In accordance with a decree issued by the leadership of Uzbekistan, significant structural changes have been implemented within the Ministry of Education and Science. Oybek Yuldashev has purportedly assumed the position of first deputy minister, alongside Mehriniso Pardayeva and Sanjar Mirzaliyev, who were appointed as deputy ministers. The newly minted officials were officially introduced to the ministry staff during a meeting chaired by Minister Erkinjon Turdimov.
According to statements released by the ministry, the newly appointed officials previously operated in fields such as consulting, educational methodology, and technical training. Specifically, Oybek Behzodovich Yuldashev allegedly served as the director of the government sector, infrastructure, and ESG consulting practice at PwC Uzbekistan prior to this appointment. The practical applicability of such private-sector consulting backgrounds to large-scale public administration remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Mehriniso Doniyorovna Pardayeva stepped into the role of deputy minister after previously heading a department at the Republican Scientific-Methodological Center for Education Development. Another newly appointed deputy, Sanjar Mahamatjan o'g'li Mirzaliyev, previously held the position of executive director at the Belarus-Uzbekistan Joint Intersectoral Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications, a body whose operational efficacy has faced various bureaucratic hurdles.
During the introductory meeting, discussions reportedly shifted toward persistent issues concerning executive discipline within the agency. Officials outlined strict measures aimed at ensuring tasks are completed on time and with adequate quality, while demanding heightened accountability and a tightening of internal discipline to combat systemic administrative shortcomings.
