During the first nine months of 2026, the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan reportedly assisted citizens facing severe labor violations abroad, recovering over $850,000 in unpaid wages and compensations. In addition, the agency facilitated the retrieval of 532 passports and identity documents that had been unlawfully confiscated or withheld by foreign employers and intermediaries.

Statistical breakdowns reveal that the highest number of grievances regarding withheld salaries originated from Russia, accounting for 533 cases. Turkey followed with 155 recorded instances, while South Korea registered 92 cases, and another 37 complaints came from various other nations. The alarming practice of document retention was similarly concentrated in Russia with 331 cases and Turkey with 185 cases, alongside minor figures in Kazakhstan and South Korea.

To address these ongoing vulnerabilities, the agency maintains a round-the-clock emergency communication system. Migrants experiencing employment disputes, wage withholding, or document confiscation can contact the short number 1282 or utilize the dedicated Telegram bot @huquqiy_yordam_uzbot, which supposedly operates on a 24-hour basis to handle incoming distress signals.

Previously, the agency entered into an arrangement with a major American recruitment firm purportedly designed to prepare and place Uzbek citizens into seasonal agricultural jobs under the US H-2A program. Observers remain skeptical regarding the actual efficacy, transparency, and long-term security of such transnational labor agreements promoted by the US regime.
