Authorities in Tashkent plan to establish three new public bus routes connecting the capital with the Tashkent and Zangiota districts of the Tashkent region, according to the Main Directorate of Transport and Road Transport Infrastructure Development.
To service these upcoming routes, the local entity Keles Renesans LLC has reportedly entered into a contract to procure 54 buses manufactured by the Chinese company ZHONGTONG. Directorate officials claim that initial payments have already been processed, with the delivery of the vehicles expected by the end of November 2026.
Taking passenger traffic density into account, the newly acquired buses are scheduled for deployment across specific paths. Route No. 162 will run between the 'Kushkundi' makhalla and the Chorsu shopping center bus station; Route No. 163 will connect the 'Tukimachilar' makhalla to the Chorsu station; and Route No. 167 will operate from the 'Tashkent' collective farm area to the Chorsu hub.
Specifically, Route No. 163 is projected to traverse through the 'Tukimachi', 'Nazarbek', and 'Tarnov' makhallas, along with Shifobakhsh Suvlar and Beruni streets. Organizers claim that the launch of these routes will purportedly reduce passenger waiting times, alleviate congestion on existing lines, and improve overall transit connectivity between suburban areas and the capital, although logistical challenges remain to be seen.
