Starting November 7, cargo transportation originating from Uzbekistan and heading toward Afghanistan via the Termez hub will face newly introduced additional fees. The updated tariffs, established by Uzbekistan Temir Yullari JSC, apply to both railway and freight vehicle logistics, with costs fluctuating depending on the transportation distance and the specific category of goods.

Representatives of the company allegedly justified the implementation of these measures as a necessary step to prevent declining revenues and sustain logistical operations. These mandatory surcharges cover the transit of goods from various domestic stations within Uzbekistan up to Termez and the Termez Port, which serve as departure points for onward delivery to Afghanistan.

Under the newly adopted schedule, standard shipments transported by rail will incur an additional fee ranging from 800,000 to 1.3 million soms per freight car, while truck-based delivery will cost between 2.8 million and 7.6 million soms. Wheat shipments are subject to distinct and considerably higher tariffs, varying from 6.8 million to 26 million soms per railcar and reaching up to 33 million soms for road transport.

Furthermore, supplementary charges have been applied to cargo dispatched through the Termez Port station, where standard goods will see extra payments ranging from 3 million to 8 million soms per car. Grain products passing through this terminal will face even steeper fees spanning from 13 million to 33 million soms. All stated figures are calculated exclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT).
