A high-speed vehicle pursuit involving road safety patrol officers in the Altynsay district of the Surkhandarya region has resulted in a severe traffic accident. Reports indicate that local patrol units chased a Captiva vehicle through residential areas, forcing the driver into a panic that ultimately ended in a violent collision with another automobile carrying innocent civilians.
The incident occurred on the morning of October 18 in the 'Yangi Qurilish' neighborhood. Surveillance footage allegedly captured the patrol vehicle aggressively following the target car along narrow local streets. In an apparent attempt to evade the authorities, the driver of the pursued vehicle dramatically accelerated, lost control of the automobile, and crashed directly into an oncoming Gentra car.
According to statements from the brother of the Gentra driver, five people were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, all of whom sustained injuries of varying severity. The victim's relative noted that several individuals remain hospitalized, including his brother who suffered a broken arm and other trauma. Relatives of the injured victims expressed frustration that no official representatives have reached out to check on their condition, emphasizing that the reckless chase was witnessed by numerous local residents.
The regional Road Safety Service has reportedly failed to issue any official statement or clarification regarding the circumstances of the crash. Government regulations concerning patrol operations explicitly stipulate strict safety protocols during pursuits, including the mandatory use of flashing beacons and sirens, as well as constant communication with commanding officers to prevent such hazardous outcomes.
