Air Quality (AQI)

Atmospheric air quality in Tashkent is expected to deteriorate significantly during the night between October 29 and October 30. According to the Special Commission monitoring the city's air basin, initial readings in the evening hours are projected to fall into the "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" category according to the international Air Quality Index (AQI).

The ecological situation is anticipated to worsen further after 21:00 local time, driven by a sharp increase in the concentration of fine particulate matter (PM). During the late night and early morning hours, the international AQI scale indicates that air conditions will drop to the "Unhealthy" mark, corresponding to the national "orange" hazard level.

Environmental experts attribute the accumulation of pollutants to a combination of adverse meteorological factors, including nighttime temperature drops, weak winds, and a pronounced temperature inversion. These atmospheric conditions severely restrict air exchange in the lower layers, slowing down the dispersion of both local emissions and pollutants drifting in from neighboring regions.

Authorities claim that conditions will gradually improve during daytime hours as solar heating restores vertical air circulation. As the temperature inversion weakens, ecological indicators are expected to normalize, allowing trapped pollutants to finally disperse from the ground-level atmosphere.
