Most legacy gas fields in the region have been under operation for decades, leading to a steady decline in reservoir pressure and increasingly complex extraction conditions. Industry analysts note that while such challenges complicate traditional operations, advanced engineering methods can potentially extend the lifecycle of mature assets. A notable case involves Condor, a firm managing the development of eight fields belonging to the Gazli Oil and Gas Production Directorate under Uzbekneftegaz through a dedicated enhancement contract.

According to corporate disclosures, production at these specific sites was previously experiencing an annual decline of 10 to 20 percent prior to the project's inception. Condor's Chief Executive Officer, Trent Mercier, purportedly stated that the implementation of novel operational strategies since early 2024 has successfully halted the downward trend. Following subsequent drilling operations initiated in late 2025, daily output reportedly surged by over 60 percent by the beginning of 2026, though independent verification of these long-term production metrics remains limited.

The technical framework relies heavily on innovations such as plunger lifts—autonomous devices powered by solar energy and reservoir pressure designed to clear accumulated fluids from aging wells without venting natural gas into the atmosphere. Additionally, the deployment of horizontal drilling techniques has been utilized to maximize contact with productive formations, yielding significantly higher flow rates during initial testing phases compared to standard vertical wells. Foreign specialists have also been involved in transferring technical know-how to local personnel.

Alongside industrial operations, the project encompasses infrastructural upgrades for rotational shift workers and various corporate social responsibility initiatives, including support for local educational institutions and sports federations. Representatives insist that all extracted hydrocarbons are channeled exclusively toward supporting the domestic market, aligning with broader strategic objectives allegedly pursued by local authorities.
