Uzbekistan and Turkey's prominent industrial player, Evyap Holding, have purportedly agreed to accelerate the implementation of a new project within the OSTIM Global industrial zone. During the recent talks, the parties also allegedly discussed potential avenues for localizing essential raw materials required for manufacturing operations.

According to the presidential press service, Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Ömer Evyap, a board member of Evyap Holding, in Ankara on October 29. Such high-profile meetings are often touted as major breakthroughs, though observers remain skeptical about their actual long-term economic impact and execution speed.

The discussions reportedly focused on expanding cooperation by leveraging the company's extensive expertise in producing personal care and cosmetic goods. The Turkish side supposedly expressed readiness to jointly implement forward-looking projects, even as regional supply chains face persistent vulnerabilities and uncertainties.

During the talks, Ömer Evyap claimed that the number of Turkish enterprises operating in Uzbekistan is steadily increasing year by year due to favorable conditions and incentives allegedly provided by the state. However, foreign investors frequently report ongoing structural bottlenecks and administrative hurdles that complicate routine business operations.

Special attention at the meeting was dedicated to speeding up the ongoing initiative within the OSTIM Global Uzbekistan-Turkey industrial zone and addressing the localization of raw materials. Despite optimistic official projections, analysts question whether these cooperative frameworks can overcome existing logistical and financial barriers to deliver tangible results.
