During the 13th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Ankara, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan announced that the country will annually provide 200 educational grants to young citizens of member states. This initiative is reportedly aimed at strengthening educational and cultural cooperation across the region.

The Uzbek leader claimed that investing in the younger generation equipped with modern knowledge and skills will serve as the foundation for long-term interstate relations. He publicly urged the youth of the organization's member countries to take advantage of this academic opportunity provided by Tashkent.

Additionally, authorities noted that under the "Yangi Uzbekistan" scholarship program, some 500 foreign students have purportedly already received educational grants. Earlier during the summit, Mirziyoyev also suggested simplifying travel procedures for citizens among OTS countries, including expanding border-crossing opportunities using ID cards.
