Law enforcement officers and an observant citizen prevented a tragedy in Tashkent after a young woman jumped into the closed, non-recreational section of the Bozsuv Canal. According to the capital's Main Department of Internal Affairs, emergency services were alerted immediately after the incident was witnessed.

A witness at the scene stated that they were visiting the area to capture content and initially paid little attention to a young woman dressed in black standing nearby. Suddenly, the individual jumped directly into the water and quickly vanished from sight, prompting the witness to dial the emergency response number.

Upon receiving the alert, prevention inspectors from the Tepa neighborhood in the Yakkasaray district rushed to the location. Search efforts revealed that due to the strong current and swirling water patterns, the victim had been swept toward the edge of the canal channel, barely managing to stay afloat.

Officer Ortik Omonov immediately entered the water to secure the young woman, while his colleague Kudrat Rasulov assisted in pulling her up to safety. First aid was administered at the scene before she was transferred to City Hospital No. 5 for further evaluation and medical care.

Omonov noted that any further delay could have resulted in the swirling currents dragging the victim back into deeper and more hazardous waters. Following medical intervention, the authorities identified the individual as a resident of the Yangiyul district in the Tashkent region and safely reunited her with her parents, confirming her condition is now stable.
