President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a dedicated meeting in Tashkent's Uchtepa district to address pressing priorities within the labor migration sector. The discussion focused heavily on improving the welfare and legal protections of Uzbek nationals currently employed outside the country.
During the session, the head of state emphasized that citizens working abroad to support their families are hardworking individuals deserving of full state backing. He reiterated that safeguarding the rights of all citizens, regardless of their geographical location, remains a fundamental duty of the government.
Under the newly announced measures, citizens facing difficulties abroad will no longer need to personally track down embassies or consulates. Instead, they will be able to submit assistance requests via the «Onlayn mahalla» digital platform, ensuring that diplomatic representatives step in directly to resolve issues on the ground.
The president instructed responsible officials to establish and operationalize this system within a strict ten-day timeframe. Authorities highlighted that the broader approach toward migrant workers is shifting, recognizing them not merely as remittance senders, but as valued citizens fully entitled to state protection.
