Law enforcement agencies and rescue teams in the Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan have launched an intensive search operation for a two-year-old toddler who disappeared during a family outing. Authorities have announced a substantial reward of 20 million soums for any actionable information leading to the safe recovery of the child.

According to the regional Department of Internal Affairs, the incident occurred on April 26 in the "Sangardak" rural neighborhood of the Sariosiyo district, a popular recreational area. The boy's mother, Sitora Botirova, momentarily stepped away toward their parked vehicle to retrieve personal belongings. During her brief absence, the unattended toddler vanished, having last been seen near the edge of a nearby river.

The missing child, identified as Zubayr Salimov, resides with his parents in the "Yulduz" mahalla in the regional capital of Termez. He was under two years of age at the time of his disappearance. Search and rescue crews, police officers, and local volunteers continue to scour the surrounding mountainous terrain and waterways in hopes of locating him.

Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the child's whereabouts or details about his disappearance to contact emergency services at 112 or call the designated search hotlines at 97-698-51-51, 91-583-48-48, or 94-514-11-15. Officials have reiterated that a 20-million-soum reward awaits anyone providing crucial assistance in finding the boy.

This distressing case follows another recent tragedy in the Tashkent region, where a five-year-old boy went missing from his home and was found drowned in a local canal after a two-day search. Emergency officials emphasize the critical importance of vigilant parental supervision, particularly around natural bodies of water and during outdoor recreational trips.
