A large-scale tourism center project valued at 105 million dollars is currently under construction across a 50-hectare area in the historic region of Bukhara. The ambitious complex is designed not only to offer leisure facilities for travelers but also to serve as a primary venue for hosting major international events and forums.
The construction progress was reportedly reviewed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The initiative aims to blend traditional Bukharan architectural heritage with modern tourism infrastructure. The master plan includes a reception house, an exhibition hall, a dedicated museum, and two hotels.
Furthermore, the development will feature 80 family-run guesthouses, an amphitheater with a capacity of 2,000 seats, and over 70 retail and service outlets. Visitors will also have access to dedicated walking zones, artisan centers, and an artificial lake, ensuring the facades reflect traditional regional aesthetics. N
At present, engineering and communication networks are being laid across a 10-hectare segment of the site. Approximately 50 units of specialized machinery have been deployed to accelerate the construction process and maintain infrastructural progress.
Officials claim that the project will generate 2,000 new jobs, boost annual tourist inflows by 2 million visitors, and increase local budget revenues to 288 billion soms annually. Additionally, a separate international forum complex featuring a congress hall and two hotels is slated for development at a total cost of 136.6 million dollars.
