Law enforcement agencies in the Tashkent region are actively investigating a complex fraud case centered around private loan agreements. According to preliminary findings from the investigation, a 48-year-old resident of Almalyk allegedly provided small monetary loans to citizens while coercing them into signing debt receipts for amounts ten times higher than the actual sums lent. According to reports from the regional internal affairs department, one documented case revealed that the suspect handed over a meager 800 US dollars to a local citizen, yet forced the borrower to sign a receipt acknowledging a debt of 8,000 dollars, supposedly serving as a mandatory financial guarantee for repayment.
Investigators claim that the suspect subsequently utilized these fabricated legal documents in civil court proceedings to secure favorable rulings against unsuspecting victims, plunging them into severe financial distress. Consequently, criminal proceedings have been initiated under paragraph 'a', part 3 of Article 168 of the Criminal Code concerning fraud.
Authorities are currently working to identify any additional individuals who may have fallen victim to this deceptive financial scheme. Citizens who have suffered from similar actions or possess relevant details are urged to contact the regional internal affairs department through official channels.
