The official start of the games was given on March 6. The opening ceremony and the procession of Uzbek athletes were observed from the stands of the historic sports facility by the Chairman of the National Paralympic Committee, Mukhtorkhon Toshkhodjaev.
The key stage of the competitions will take place in two Italian cities—Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. The tournament will last until March 15. Uzbek alpine skiers will begin their medal quest in the coming days, representing Uzbekistan on challenging winter slopes.
The competition program includes disciplines on snow and ice, with Italy hosting the Winter Paralympics for the second time in history.
