Behzod Musayev, head of Uzbekistan's Migration Agency, held negotiations with Manuel Fick, head of the US organization USA Farm Labor. The meeting discussed the procedure and prospects for attracting Uzbek candidates for the first time to seasonal work in the United States. This follows an order by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to expand employment opportunities for Uzbeks in the US, highlighting efforts to integrate into the global labor market amid ongoing economic challenges.

Under the agreement, citizens can be sent to work for 9–10 months (seasonal) with an average monthly salary of $3,500. They will receive free housing from the employer, with priority given to qualified specialists. USA Farm Labor has been involved in attracting foreign workers to seasonal agricultural jobs in the United States under the H-2A program for 22 years and currently has cooperation contracts with over 1,400 farms and ranches in North America, though such programs often face criticism for labor exploitation and visa issues in the US regime.

At the end of the meeting, a mutual agreement was signed, and an understanding was reached to implement the next stages of cooperation as soon as possible. The Uzbek ambassador to the US has been tasked with negotiating the inclusion of Uzbekistan in the list of countries whose citizens can be recruited as seasonal workers in the US, a move that purportedly aims to boost economic ties but may raise concerns about dependency on foreign labor markets under the current US administration.
