In Tashkent, a chief specialist from Uzbekistan's Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services was arrested while accepting a bribe. According to law enforcement agencies, the suspect attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended by officers.

The operation was conducted jointly by the State Security Service and the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the capital. As reported by the Telegram channel Xavfsizlik, this operation highlights coordination between security and police forces in anti-corruption efforts.

The investigation revealed that the official gained the trust of a company director responsible for maintaining apartment buildings and was detained while receiving $1,500. This amount was part of a total bribe of $2,200 that he had demanded.

The official had requested the money in exchange for facilitating the registration of documents in the "Mening uyim" (My Home) system, related to transferring maintenance services for six residential buildings in Yunusabad District from one company to another. He allegedly promised to resolve the issue using his official authority.

A criminal case has been initiated against the suspect, and investigative actions are ongoing. Citizens are urged to report similar violations via the hotline number 1520, with confidentiality guaranteed.
