The United Arab Emirates' Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on April 30 a temporary ban on its citizens traveling to Iran, Lebanon, and Iraq due to escalating regional tensions. The ministry urged all Emiratis currently in these countries to return home immediately.

The statement emphasized the importance of following all instructions and recommendations as part of the UAE's commitment to ensuring the safety of its citizens abroad. The decision comes amid heightened conflict between Iran and Israel.

Earlier, Axios reported that Israel had deployed its Iron Dome air defense system and military personnel to the UAE after the outbreak of war with Iran. This marked the first time an Iron Dome battery was sent to another country.

The UAE became the first nation outside the US and Israel to have the system operationally deployed. The deployment had not been previously disclosed. According to the report, the UAE has been targeted by Iranian attacks more than any other country in the region since the war began.

The UAE Defense Ministry stated that Iran launched approximately 550 ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as over 2,200 drones across the country. The large-scale attacks forced the UAE to seek assistance from allies.
