Uzbekistan has become the country with the highest beef prices in Central Asia, significantly outpacing its neighbors. According to Numbeo, the average price of boneless beef in Uzbekistan is $10.92 per kilogram.
In comparison, Kazakhstan's average stands at $8.67 per kg, a difference of $2.25. Uzbekistan's prices are nearly identical to those in Russia ($10.85) and Azerbaijan ($10.64).
A similar situation is observed in Tajikistan, where domestic production covers only 58% of market demand, keeping prices high. Globally, Central Asia still offers relatively affordable beef.
The most expensive beef is in Switzerland at $45.91 per kg, followed by Norway ($32.85) and South Korea ($25.23). The cheapest beef is found in Pakistan ($4.70) and Nigeria ($4.73).
According to the FAO, global beef prices rose by 1% in March 2026 due to reduced production in major exporting countries such as Brazil and the US, putting pressure on domestic markets worldwide.
