A Paris appeals court has found Airbus and Air France guilty of corporate manslaughter over the 2009 crash of Air France Flight 447, which plunged into the Atlantic Ocean, killing all 228 people on board. The disaster remains France's deadliest aviation accident.

The court ordered each company to pay the maximum fine of €225,000 ($260,971). The verdict comes after years of legal battles and marks a significant ruling in the case that has haunted French aviation.

Both companies are expected to appeal the decision. The ruling sets a precedent for corporate liability in aviation disasters, highlighting failures in safety protocols and pilot training.
