The celebration of Paris Saint-Germain's historic Champions League victory turned into widespread riots across France. After a dramatic final in Budapest, where PSG defeated London's Arsenal in a penalty shootout, thousands of fans took to the streets.

According to the French Ministry of the Interior, law enforcement arrested 416 people nationwide. The main hotspot was Paris, where 283 offenders were taken into custody. In the capital, festivities quickly escalated into clashes: groups of radical fans set fire to cars and trash bins, smashed store windows, restaurants, and bakeries.

The situation intensified when one group attempted to storm a police station in the 8th arrondissement. The attack was thwarted, and 45 people were arrested on the spot. One police officer was injured during the riots. On the Champs-Élysées, where about 20,000 people gathered, police had to use force to control the crowd, and in the 16th arrondissement, they dismantled barricades made of bicycles.

The current events largely mirrored the scenario from last May, when PSG won the Champions League for the first time. During those mass protests and celebrations, 201 people were injured, and the number of arrests across the country exceeded 500.
