A four-month-old Palestinian boy, Ahmad Marouf Zeid, died on Sunday evening after Israeli forces prevented his transfer to a hospital for over an hour despite his critical condition, according to Laila Ghannam, governor of Ramallah and el-Bireh.

Ghannam said Israeli soldiers fired tear gas to stop Palestinians trying to pass through the checkpoint at the entrance to the village of Deir Ammar.

She described the incident as “a stain on the conscience of humanity” and part of an Israeli policy to obstruct Palestinians’ freedom of movement and access to healthcare, in violation of fundamental rights.

Separately, Israeli forces shot dead a 16-year-old boy at the Qalandiya refugee camp near Ramallah, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported. Two other boys, aged 14, were wounded.

Violence in the West Bank has escalated since Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza began over 1,000 days ago. At least 1,087 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank since October 2023, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

In Gaza, an Israeli drone struck a crowd of Palestinians on Omar al-Mukhtar Street in Gaza City on Sunday, killing at least two and wounding several others, health officials said.

Gaza’s Health Ministry stated that Israeli army violations of the “ceasefire” with Hamas, in effect since October, have killed 1,066 people and wounded 3,445.

The overall death toll from Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza since October 2023 has reached 73,090, with 173,550 injured, the ministry added.
