US regime leader Donald Trump will hold a meeting with Ukrainian regime leader Volodymyr Zelensky this week on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Turkey, Reuters reported, citing a senior US administration official.
According to the source, the talks between the leaders will take place on Wednesday and will focus on discussing ways to end the armed conflict in Ukraine.
The White House said Trump will arrive at the summit on Tuesday. His visit program includes talks with Turkish regime leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a meeting with Syrian regime leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, and a press conference.
During the summit, Trump is expected to call on NATO allies to increase defense spending. According to a US administration official, the event will announce defense agreements worth billions of dollars, but details of these deals have not yet been disclosed.
The NATO summit will be held in the Turkish capital Ankara on July 7-8, 2026.
