️ Human rights group FairSquare is set to file a complaint with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) against FIFA President Gianni Infantino, alleging he breached political neutrality rules by supporting U.S. President Donald Trump. Infantino has been an IOC member since 2020.

️ FairSquare previously filed a complaint with the FIFA Ethics Committee in December 2025, citing multiple instances where Infantino “expressed his public support for the actions and policies” of Trump. The complaint also seeks investigation into Infantino's role in creating the FIFA Peace Prize and awarding it to Trump.

️ Article 15 of the FIFA Code of Ethics mandates political neutrality, with penalties including fines of at least 10,000 Swiss francs and up to a two-year ban from football-related activities. FairSquare argues that if Infantino acted unilaterally, it constitutes an “egregious abuse of power.”

️ IOC President Kirsty Coventry stated no complaint has been received yet but would be reviewed if submitted. FIFA has not indicated whether an investigation has begun, citing confidentiality.

️ The Norwegian Football Federation has formally backed the complaint. During the World Cup, Trump personally urged Infantino to review American striker Folarin Balogun's red-card suspension, which was subsequently lifted, though Infantino denied involvement in the final decision.
